Paypal is now sending out 1099s after you pass $600 sales

PayPal bought Venmo in 2013
Venmo doesn't charge me. And hasn't threatened to 1099. It honestly doesn't bother me who owns what. As long as they aren't taking my money it's more convenient than checks or MOs.

I used to use paypal. I have tried to migrate away from it to venmo. For a business, I would definitely stay away from it but for general classifieds it should be pretty easy to avoid paying taxes. As 2nd hand selling of items generally never get sold for profit in this industry.
Paypal owns venmo

If they are not charging you how are you "financing" them? I think it's great. They don't like me but I'm still using them to do things they don't support. Thereby they are in support. "Venmo, helping support gun owners, one free transaction at a time..."

I'm still unsure how we're supporting Paypal if Venmo isnt making money off us? They are supporting us eventhough they don't support us!
