There's some terrific elk here, too. No quantity like ID, CO, MT or WY but some giants!
Gilgamesh in your neck of the woods crafts some tasty ales. Lately I've been drinking stouts and IPAs from Block 15 in Corvallis.cheers! So many really good beer choices we have in Oregon!
That bull is actually in Castle Garden, which is just a short distance from Driftwood.
Our camp is only about 2 miles from that spot, he no doubt ate grass in our yard also.
Within sight of that spot on the opposite side of the large creek is a subdivision containing mostly older mobile homes used as hunting camps.
A ride thru whats known locally as the trailer park will as a rule show quite a few elk eating grass in the yards.
Ive seen up to 6 large bulls there at the same time.
And of coarse its also a prime location for (hunters) to visit.
Even (guided) hunters.
There is no place within that location that you wouldnt be violating several different safety zone laws by shooting.
But that all goes away when the elk season is open.
THAT'S WHY I POST THEM !!!!!!!!!!!!Man these pictures are getting me riled up for season!! Taking the new inline muzzleloaders out this weekend to dial in a load for them. Hopefully I'll get to contribute my own picture here this year!
