Another good coyote..
Called in two nice coyotes - spooked one but killed this 22-24lbs male within sight of the ranchers livestock.
Guessed him to be 300yd actually 250ish.
Rem 700 22-250 ,hs precision,douglas xx 26" stainless ,zeiss 4.5x14-44.
Shoots 55gr sierra blitzkings w/h-380 into .4"-.5" groups.
I went back to a 250yd zero -was using mpbr=maximum point blank range but the midrange trajectory is too high [3.5"] for my taste.You can easily over shoot a coyote especially if you use a hard surface to shoot off of.
Is this what you were referring to by "overshooting" the coyote? It looks like the shot was high and hit the spine and literally "blew up".
