OK what we found out was grease drys out and sets up like an adhesive after 24 years !
So blue or purple and maybe even red loctite and grease would not matter, they would all end with the same results !
My opinion now after this ordeal,,,, would be to use (SILVER) anti seize on everything ,,,, and forget the greases and loctite all together !!!!!
OH ! and we found out the old EAGLE ARMS CO. used Wilson barrels way back then , same as white oak is now,,, only diff is white oak dont offer theirs in a 1-9 twist,,, its now a 1-8 twist.....I think if i had a choice i would have stayed with a 1-9 twist....
