Official 2022 Varmint Post

Creedmooor shooter, I like your setup! I absolutely love the 6 CM with the 108s. However, I'm shooting the Hornaday's and only target steel. The guys all agree, it hit's like a ton o bricks and leaves a big splatter mark! Very accurate, too. Around here, I don't have any long shots, so my other go to round is the 17 WSM.

Thanks. It's my first full custom build. I built it for PRS competition. It's my pride and joy right now lol.

Pierce Engineering action
MPA Matrix chassis
Criterion barrel
Vortex AMG 6-24x50
Vortex PMR rings
Triggertech special flat shoe

my main bullet I'm going to shoot is the 109 hybrid. The 108bt is just what my buddy had and we used them for break in

I said around here I donthave long shots. I meant at varmints. I do shoot a 975 yd. private range. My 6 CM out performs all the others! The 308 is waaay behind and the 6.5 CM gets beat up too.
I honestly believe ANY of the 108 to 115 gr. Bt bullets will fly flat and accurate as far as you can shoot. I think the big money shoot out west goes to 1400(?) Yds and everyone shoots a 6mm of some kind.
Have fun with that build!

Post some pics of that rifle when you get a chance buddy…

Here are some pictures of our Ruger .204 Target Grey. The Laminated stock was original (I put about a dozen hand rubbed coats of Tru Oil on it) and topped off with a VXIII 5x25 Target.
Ended up putting the action and barrel in an MDT Chassis with adjustable/folder stock. Custom fit it to Jill. I also threaded the barrel and cut a new crown on it. Has a Vortex HD Gen II 4.5X27X56 and a YHM Suppressor.
Still shoots <0.15" with 39gr SGK somewhere around 3,800fps. Has a 26" barrel.
Thanks
Len & Jill

Wow! You sure got a beautiful Cooper! And in the great ole 220 Swift! Ive got 2 Cooper's, but synthetic stocks. Aint nothing like shooting beautiful rifles and shotguns, I do own some of those.
You just convinced me to take 2 rifles to hunt PD s in June that have.

Got these guys with my 22 Marauder PCP. Perfect example of cute bunny and oh just some of the bugs they carry. Stone dead food locked in its mouth. Not one step of happy dance. Now this is a perfect example of lung blood.

Youngest boy just turned 6, came so close to getting his first Chuck killed. 100 yds, AR15 5.56, 15mph wind, literally shaved hairs on a clean miss. Was so awesome watching his excitement behind the trigger, such good practice for our next generation of Hunters…..View attachment 369352View attachment 369353

That's a mighty fine picture of carnage! LOL. The Swift rules in a groundhog field. And that's a mighty good looking Swift rifle, too! What is it? I want to say a Cooper?
