Gauntlet to A Grand Aug 2017 is in the Books
Sunday morning welcomed us with a bright wind free day for shooting
I will say the shooters drawing the later shoot time where challenged with a boiling mirage
David Hills showed up with his "A" game. Shooting a 6.5 Creedmoor in the under 30 cal class, running though the first 2 targets without a miss, figuring out the "Snowman" at 752yds (toughest target for all shooters).
David continued his willing ways into the Magnum Class, even with the later shooting time draw: the boiling mirage got the best of him at the 1000 yd target, David was on target on the three previous targets to hold off the late chargers to hold onto King of the Magnum class.
Mike ran away in the < .30 class, dropping 2 on 752yd (snowman) but put together a great 6" group on the 1000 yr target.
David continued his Winning ways becoming the 1st King of Kings Great shooting David: now you will have to defend your Title in the Spring of 2018!
With everyone having fun: the question came up of "Cold Bore at a Grand",
Why not we put the rules together on the spot:
Gun had to sit for 15 minutes before being shot
One shot at the 1000 yd target
Emma: one of the scorers/spotters asked if she could participate also, She borrows my Live Free AR10, she has never fired this rifle before, I give her the adjustments for a 1000yrd 8.8 mils up 0.2 mils left (she dials 0.3 left)
Drills the steel at a Grand! Only shooter to cold bore the Grand with a boiling mirage.
A Special thanks to MOA Targets (moatargets.com) for some swag and give-a-ways
