It shouldn't. They'll pressure wash it off and nitride it. At least that's what they did with mine.

What's the benefit of nitriding? Can you cerakote over top of it and keep the benefits?

I would recommend using a search engine to find potential benefits and drawbacks. Then make a decision on whether or not this is something you want to pursue. We often have a lot of money tied up in our toys and don't want to potentially ruin them.
moses42ak is correct, it will make no difference, and will not affect the cost. -Brian
Arcola is correct. We can do the stainless components, but not aluminum. We are a certified Cerakote shop, and normally we cerakote the aluminum parts a color that is a very close match to the look of the nitride. Typically the cost of the cerakoting is $20. -Brian
Defiance sends their actions to the same company for Nitriding, and recommends them. -Brian
