I went today to buy a NightForce Scope and it had "Made in Japan" on it.
Sure was a nice scope and appeared to be well built and heavy.

I ended just adding another Leupold VX 3i 3.5x10.

I have several NF scopes, some made in USA and some made in Japan. All excellent quality.

so why does it matter where it's made again?

leave it up to macro-economics, and the consumer always wins. When the masses vote with dollars bills in a competitive market, the people who do it best only get better at it. And Nightforce is one of the best. If they think the best option is to get some or all of the components or assembly done in Japan, then I guess I'll trust them. After all, they probably know a little bit more about scopes than i do.
