Nightforce NXS 3.5-15x50mm NP-R2 | Sin City Precision

In the past I have spent a lot of time using a Nighforce NXS 3.5x15x50mm. The NXS line was originally designed for military small arms so it was built to withstand harsh conditions. The scope has served me well and has held up to a lot of use. I have found the quality, durability and repeatability to be excellent.

This particular rifle scope is pretty bare bones, it doesn't have zero stops, high speed turrets and isn't first focal plane. The elevation turrets are the older style which have 10 MOA per rotation and numbered index marks to keep track of where your zero is. The scope is marked "Made in Japan" on the 30mm main tube.

The illumination feature is incorporated into the parallax knob which doubles as the on/off switch located on the left side of the scope. The battery life of the illumination feature has been impressive and I don't mind leaving it on continually during our night time shooting sessions. I haven't needed to change the battery while I owned the scope. One of the disadvantages of the Nightforce illumination is that the intensity isn't externally adjustable.

I appreciated the feedback on the scope.

I visited your teams site and it was well done.

The additional info on your teams site says it succinctly.

Some of the used high end optics are worthy as an option to level up so to speak.

I think your teams methods of stress testing the nightforce for durability is extreme! Glad it is not something your planning to repeat. It appears your survived the event as well, kudos fro the information. LOL
