Nightforce NX8 1-8..?

Anyone using one of these for coyote hunting?

The reason I'm asking is because I hike a lot while coyote hunting and cover a lot of ground. I've been using my SBR because it's light and a dream to carry. I have a Vortex Strike Eagle LPVO on in that I hate! I'm lookin to upgrade.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

I haven't really hunted with mine. But use it for everything else. I like mine, thinking about getting a second. On 1x the reticle is pretty small, but the illumination is aimpoint bright. If you get one get the newer model with the FC-DMx reticle.

I found the field of view really small on that model.

Hard to beat the Kahles 1-6 in my opinion.

No longer own either, as I found 2-10x or 3-12x works better for me ( I get a lot of opportunities between 400-500yd)

If you can swing the price, I'd go ATACR instead of the NX8 in the LPVO.

I'd the kahles first but I didn't like the reticle and the illumination isn't daylight bright. The reticle marks aren't numbered so you have to count each one. Sold it and got the NX8.

Once you get into that class of optics. None of them are bad.

I'm really on the fence… NX8 or the Atacr. I think they would be sweet on my SNR for hand calling. It's a pile of money though…!

ATACR is a big size wise scope compared to the NX8. Id try to find a store that has both and take a look at them. Can't go wrong with either.

I'm not sure I'll be able to, but I've been obsessively doing my research on them. I'll just keep my eyes out for a good deal.

Well nx8 is lighter, more compact and won't hurt the pocket book as much
