So, got the skinny in the story. Guy was elk hunting, working into a herd and cow calling, when he heard something coming in behind him to the side, he drew his bow, mr. wolf steps out guy thinks,"hmmm, what the hell why not?" And pins him between the eyes. Still trying to get him to mount the wolf just like the pic.

Whatever it costs to mount him the way he looks in the pic will be worth every cent.

Yeah... I've played the scenario in my head and wondered if I'd have made a shot like that. Jury's still out.... I like to think of myself as the hero in my own stories, but until you're actually in bow range of a good sized wolf in the deep nasties of the Idaho Panhandle, alone, you really can't say just how cool you'll be... This dude was almost casual about the shot. I'm not that cool under pressure
