New to forum... Already need help with base choice for new rifle and scope...

I always put a small level on the scope base in multiple places to make sure it's not twisting. I doubt that step is actually necessary on a hunting rifle though.

Oh, thanks.

I have been building ARs for years and am a member at a more MSR oriented site, as well.

Lately, I have been a lot more interested in Western Hunting and higher quality bolt action builds.

A lot of my google research kept bringing me back here, so I decided to join and start posting a bit.

I'll stop derailing the thread now :)

I am semi retired... and I hunt in Bertie and Gates counties mostly... Just haven't been able to go much recently... trying to get things set up to do more...

I have not even gotten around to messing with that one yet.

I picked it up Spring of this year and spent the Summer getting ready for an elk hunt to Oregon with my 300 WM.

I plan to play with it after deer season. I have some 175 grain Terminal Ascents that I am going to try first.

I also plan to direct mount a Silencerco Hybrid 46 to it.

I also have a Vortex Viper PST Gen II 5x25-50 on order with the Vortex pro rings (PRN 30),,, The gentleman at Euro Optics had no bases or advice for the correct bases ... This Savage , unlike the tactical 110 , doesn't have a picatinny rail from the factory... So I have to get bases OR a picatinny rail for it... I would prefer a two piece base to keep the weight down of an already heavier rifle. I know Weaver makes a two piece base, just not sure which would be the correct as there are many slightly different 110 savages available.. Can anyone please advise as to what would be the correct base/bases for this rifle and if I should go with a one or two piece base .... Thank you in advance...

Welcome aboard....one piece 20 moa base...you are only gaining .5 oz. .enjoy!
