New to custom Rifles/Elk Hunting/First Build

As far as bottoms go I'm switching over to hawkins hunter DBMs in my hunting rifles. Flush mount Mags are great and they allow you to still have what you wanted without it snagging or getting in the way. I haven't checked out the 7 PRC but it works great with my SIL 6.5 PRC

I vote TT Diamond as well of your 2 choices. I have both on multiple rifles

Either way sounds like a great build

For Bottom metal in a hunting rifle I'd recommend a BDL. I've had mishaps with detachable.
In all my years of hunting with BDL, I've not had any problems.

The only mishap I've had was forgetting my magazine at home lol but I have spares for that very reason haha. But it's a very real possibility and a very costly mishap if you don't have a spare.

I've seen enough ppl drop their floorplate on bdls while hunting etc to know that nothing is foolproof. Murphys law lol

I like the idea of going flush mount and for target shooting being able to have the added capacity

Keep an eye out on Manners "in stock" items and you might be able to pickup what you're looking for! I was able to grab a ProHunter with mini chassis earlier this year as an in stock item.

Going down the same rabbit hole. Kelbys nanook action tt diamond trigger ,proof sendero light barrel manners lrh stock Going on 4 months wait . Greyboe bdl bottom metal . Going to be in 280ai if the stock shows up . Down to the last few parts for the build just the wait for the stock and the silencer co harvester Evo to keep the noise down. I figure I'll probably see the can before the stock . I hear manners is horrible on lead time but a great stock and worth the wait.

Welcome to the forum. The first custom build is an exciting endeavor, but can be a little overwhelming. Getting feedback is a good thing, but in the very wise words of my GS, build it the way you want it given your priorities. There are things you need to think through as you go through this journey so that you can avoid the "I wish I thought about this" moments later.
Some things you can easily change down the road, some things are not easy to change or are very expensive to change.
Weight is one of those things that fall into the difficult to change category. Triggers are easy to change. The TT Special works great for me in a hunting rifle. The bottom metal is a personal preference item. The Hawkins Hunter DBM was the direction I went based on my requirements and recommendation by my GS. I was conflicted on the stock and ran into similar issues as you on lead time with Manners. Weight played a big role for me. I went with a Mesa in the color I wanted in lieu of the Manners. I like it, but if I was planning on shooting prone using rear bags, it is not the best option. I am now shooting suppressed more than with a brake. I wish I had gone with a shorter barrel.

I did a similar build last year (I screwed it together), Zermatt TL3, prefit Proof CF ,AG stock, TT special, Hawkins DBM flush mount 6.5 PRC. The rifle shoots bug holes and took a big cow elk at 320 yds. It took 4 months to get the AG stock but I do like the fit after bedding. Like you I want a 7 PRC maybe the next build. The only problem I have had was with Hawkins DBM flush mount. The pin in the magazine release came out which would have been a problem when hunting. A few drops of lock-tite and problem solved.

Ag composites and peak 44 stocks are similar. You don't have to do another build, unless that is how you talk your spouse into it. Just another barrel is all you need. I have multiple barrels for my origin while using one action. I am thinking about buying another stock, one with a little more weight, and another action just because
