I've been lurking on the forum for a while and learned so much I had to join. I have a new Mark V .300 wby magnum that will be getting a brake soon (from Weatherby). I pared it with a Swarovski 3.5-18*44 with a BRX reticle and a Near Mfg Alpha Hunter base/ring unit (Richard was very helpful). It may not be the long range system that some of you use – but I think I should be able constantly take game out to 700-800 yards (may be more moderate range for folks here). That's my goal for now anyway. Well that and reloading too.
I am interested in hand-loading but I need to gradually move the wife toward that as a beneficial aspect of my hobby. You know, the "I can save some money if I make my own bullets" kinda thing... She responds well to my efforts at saving money…
