Our "big" cities are anything but everywhere else. I've live near Seattle and in Seoul and a big city in Montana has nothing in those and I appreciate that quite a bit.
If you ever get tired of having peace and quiet let me know I live right between Tampa and Orlando and don't get either unless I leave the area😁

Lucky for only 112 for heat index we had 123 the other day. I just got home from vacation around the country. We were in New Mexico and it was 110 without humidity it was nicer than having humidity. Prior to that we were in St Mary Montana and it was awesome 70's during the day and 40's at night watched it snow on the peaks a few days. I told my wife we needed to hook the RV back up and head to Montana again until it started to cool off in Florida so maybe late December
Its usually hot and humid here in July and August, but this was a whole new level I haven't seen in couple of decades. It was this way in the late 90s and 2000. Used to go Mt. Biking in 104 heat index. But that was long ago in a galaxy far away.

My biggest concern about the heat is September is just around the corner and the Gulf is hot which means nasty storms ahead. And since I'm no meteorologist I hope I'm wrong.

Welcome from Ohio!
GREAT Forum!
Just stayed in Kalispell for my Little Girl's wedding. Ceremony on the shore of Lake McDonald. Absolutely Beautiful Country!!!
5000mi. later...we destroyed some prairie dogs in SD, saw Badlands, Mt. Rushmore, Yellowstone, small bit of Glacier Park.
Definitely need to return to see more of the Park!

Yeah, I've been down there a little bit. I lived on the panhandle for a while when I was at EOD school. Spent a lot of evenings/nights out fishing, that was good fun.

The Badlands are beautiful also. We took a 6 week trip went through 19 states, 10 national parks, a few state parks and National seashores and put 9000 miles on my truck while pulling my 5th wheel. It was awesome and I'm still married to the same woman 🤣

Fort Walton is a beautiful area beaches are as nice as where we go down here, and pompano fishing is great up there. At least if you want the unrest and noise you know what is available😁

That's a cool thing about MT, so much landscape diversity. There is a lot of different types of country from the NW corner to the SE corner.
I agree we went from Hobson to St Mary's to Cameron. Saw tons of different things and terrain. Things I don't normally see. A semi truck with armed escorts of 3-5 Humvees leading 3-5 tailing with a Blackhawk leading and one tailing and couple more tailing a few miles back. I don't ever get to see that in Florida. Montana would be nice for most of the year and part of the winter but not the entire winter.

Hello from SW Montana.
I'm a lifelong hunter with two sons that are old enough to hunt now. While I don't do any competition shooting I do like to tune LR hunting rifles. I can shoot out to 1250 at my house, which is really nice. Thanks Matt
Greetings from Great Falls. Welcome to LRH and enjoy.

Had one of those convoys in the same configuration I passed on I20 couple of years ago. Was told by PO that its nuclear fuel waste.

Yeah they move all kinds of stuff or at least make people think that they transporting stuff in that configuration when they are probably moving everything in a semi with one Humvees escort instead
