I own multiple of the following:
Schmidt & Bender (3)
Zero Compromise (3)
Leupold MK6 (1), MK5 (3), MK4 (2), MK3 (1)
Nightforce (2)
I have never had a problem with any of them. They have all passed my tall target tests. The ZC and SB are on par as far as glass, with a slight edge leaning towards the S&B in very low light.
The ZC has the best turrets in my opinion, I really like how they turn, and have no problem dialing them to the desired MIL during competition.
For hunting I use the Leupold MK5's mostly due to weight and accurate tracking.
I recently ordered (2) Leupold MK4s to test and evaluate for competition and hunting use.
I backpack hunt in various locations, with temperatures in the teens, and while raining or snowing. I need glass that does not fog, and turrets that work. My rifle usually hangs from a tree next to my tarp/ tent and is exposed but not rained on.
If I had to pick just one scope and weight was NOT an issue, it would be the Zero Compromise hands down. The company is here in America, and the service I have had with them when cashing in on a certificate I won was excellent! I really like the overall craftsmanship.
If weight and or price was an issue, I would go with Leupold. Their customer service has also been outstanding (needed replacement parts I lost).
