Aside from the obvious recoil weenies, what is the "short action" obsession ? have never been able to figure out why a 1/2" shorter and a few ounces less weight floats some guys boats..... accuracy wise there is ZERO valid proof they are more accurate, lots of bs claims on stiffer, shorter more accurate, blah, blah, blah..... but I see Ultra Mag, Lapua and CheyTac shooters perform accuracy feats from 100 yards to beyond 1k yards that can never be replicated with short actions that are supposed to be "inherently" more accurate....... guys are designing wildcats and shoving them in short actions {guilty} and whine at the same time about limited length in mags etc.........
short actions are a solution to a non existing problem, Hornady should have just made the case a tad bit longer with capacity equating the WSM and stuck it in a long action, a feller can always load a bit mild with select powders to save wear on brass etc and crank it up on demand when needed, just like the 6.5 aWeSoMe........
nothing I have seen in the SA has been anywhere near as good and as awesome as the 6.5 WSM and it is even better in a long action
