I don't know what part of Idaho you are in but down here near Boise we have matches in the summer at Snake River sportsman where you would shoot 600yds for 20 shots, then 800 for 20 then 900 for 20 then 1000 for 20. These type events are the best way to develop and maintain wind reading skills as every time you fire the target is pulled into the pits and marked to show where you hit so you evaluate the wind before each shot then shoot and see if your guess is correct.
