New girl, just starting long range

My AR10 I built is a .308 with a 20" barrel. I have a Vortex Viper PST II 5-25x50 FFP, MRAD
the trigger is a CMC 3.5 lb single stage
I generally use Nosler
The Bergara i want is the B-14 HMR either 6.5 Creedmoor OR a .300 Win Mag and ill buy either another Vortex, or go with a Leupold Mark 5HD... but truth be told, i love my Vortex... so ill probably get another.
My AR10 with 20" barrel likes 168 Amax's and at its best is an 800 yard gun. Wind pushes it around quite a bit at that distance. On a calm day it will shoot 3" 3 shot groups at 600. Not sure what grain bullets you are shooting but I consider 168s a good minimum at 600 and 175 Sierra or 178 hornady would likely do a bit better. The 168 eldm has a high ballistic coefficient for the 168 class and does really well

I was stationed at Ft. Lewis in Washington a long time ago. We were able shoot om Weyerhaeuser land back then. They had large strips of property. I don't know if they still allow trespassing today for shooters and hunters. Anyone from Washington have knowledge on that?

I'm curious, because I live in a state that has fewer gun and hunting restrictions, if you can have an ar-10 why can you not have a bolt gun?
hello! many people that live in the Puget Sound general vicinity do not like the second amendment. they moved to this state from other states and brought their negative 2nd amendment beliefs... sooooooo to that end, a new law was recently passed that banned many things, including buying a new rifle that has an evil, scary "pistol" style grip. so, yes, I can own a bolt rifle, but the one I like, has one of those evil, scary, integrated "pistol" style grips. if a person (the FFL) would actually read the law, they would see that any bolt rifle, regardless of how it looks, is legal in my state... but that would require reading and research. That's also why its very difficult for me to buy maintenance parts for my AR15, and AR10, despite that being legal.
