A bit of a lurker here and a longtime member of the 'slide, I'm a hunter that has primarily been addicted to archery and chasing western big game with the bow. Last year I made a goal to learn my rifle. In the past year I learned to reload with a mentor, learned proper shooting fundamentals, took a muley on a solo backpack hunt with my handloads, built my first semi-custom, and put together a matching trainer rifle in .223 that I am having a ton of fun with.

Looking to learn a lot more here and have some tags to fill this fall.

Welcome! Badass dude! It's cool feeling to kill a buck with your own hand loads and hard work! I killed one buck with my hand loads and one buck with my bow here in CA on solo backpack hunts as well. I'm just south of Sacramento also.
