A fast twist 22-243 or 22-6mm shooting the 75-80g ELDMs would be a pretty awesome dog rifle. Only disadvantage I see is barrel life...haha

Several of my calling buds were concerned about barrel life in my 6/06. My first barrel went a bit over 1700 rounds. I worked up my load in less than 10 shots, and from then on only shot one @ 100 to confirm sighting.
Long and the short, the barrel had rougly 100 rounds at the range over it's life at most, the rest of the 1700 rounds were in the field on yotes/chucks/fox,/elk/deer/bear/lopes/tweety etc..........I think I got plenty out of that barrel
