Sounds interesting!

I can get 80K in a regular brass-cased cartridge, but it will most likely loosen the primer pocket to the point that it makes the case unusable again. So, since this is steel cased and most likely non-reloadable, what are you actually gaining?
Leave it to an ammunition manufacturer to come up with a "new" concept that basically makes you dependent on them to provide you ammo. Reminds me of the Remington E-tronics.

Is the cartridge case similar in dimensions to a 280 ai?
I believe I read that it's very similar in dimension to the 7mm-08. Which is it's only real appeal to me.

Only time will tell, but I feel like this might die just like the 6.8 Western. Like the. 6.8, it might be a fine cartridge, but with so many people buying the 7PRC, I think it's a bad time to introduce a new 7mm.

3,000 fps out of a 20" barrel. It looks like the idea is to use it suppressed. Higher pressure with their alloy steel case, will it rust? I wonder how close the case dimensions are to the 280ai.

Per Federal, it is a reloadable case and load details will be coming in the future.

I think many people will rush to try it. Wether it will be sustainable, only time will tell. Component availability and cost may influence it. My finances say its not for me. I just like seeing products in the market and pushing technology further. Wish them the best

Federal claims it's reloadable and the bolt thrust is comparable to standard pressure (~65ksi) brass cartridges due to the reduced deformation with steel cases. If their claims hold up it'll outperform 7 PRC while providing increased capacity, using a standard bolt face, and being safe to use in many existing actions.

Seekins is offering it in their short action, not the long. That would tell me that it's more like a 7-08 than a 280 ai. I do think that 90 grain case capacity would be interesting. Put that in a long barrel with a muzzle brake. Maybe that's the future. But it would have to be in a case that can be reloaded.

I'm wrong. It's the 277 Fury in the short action.
