New Brass Problem

New brass necks can be extremely tight. I once inadvertently processed new brass through a bushing die without the bushing installed. I was able to seat and hold bullets through two firings before I realized the error. Run them through a sizing die with expander ball or use an expander mandrel .002" less than bullet diameter to open the necks up properly.

I use Lapua Brass, but I always go through the same process with new brass as I do with fired brass which includes resizing

I developed the habit of resizing new brass. Consistency is the key.
