So, I'm having an old Model 70 rebuilt with a Brux barrel; not sure what scope yet, likely another VX5. Pretty nice wood, going to have it stripped and oil finished.
Remembering our recent ammo shortage, though, was wondering if I should get it chambered it .223 or Wylde? All of our ARs are chambered in Wylde. I've read the articles, but they mostly apply to ARs, with more pressure in 5.56. We have tons of 5.56. We'll always be able to get bullets from Steve, but powder and primers might be a different story with 2 wars going on. I have enough for my lifetime stashed but thinking future.
And as a side rant, for God's sake, even the Dems should stop trying to disarm America after Ukraine and Israel. Try that on our street.
In addition to normal 55 gr bullets, want to shoot 60-68 gr Hammers, so it will be an 8 twist.
PDs mostly, plus coyotes, maybe a deer with Hammers. Accuracy is paramount.
Thoughts?
