Best of luck with the experiment. Let us know if it works.Precisely my point. Taking the plastic tip off of the length because it is much lighter. I said that I was curious to "try".

They run fine in my nine twist 300 PRC.
The bull elk I shot this year hated them.
Are you both running these at .05 off? COAL?The 208's hammer in a nine twist, 26-inch K&P barrel with 85.1 gr N570 .050 off at 3.4625. 3058 fps.
These are safe in my barrel. Remember to start low and work up.
COAL at 3.46. All Barnes bullets shoot better for me with a longer than normal jump. Are you both running these at .05 off? COAL?

Oh yeah for sure, 3k is cookin for these things. I'm really excited to try them out. I am running 3.85 mags in mine, we'll see how they run seated that far out.3,8 is perfect. I am feeding from a BDL box. CIP length would be better but I don't have length in the magazine box or the throat for that.
I am giving away velocity at 3.46 but close to 3,000 fps kills elk dead enough.
3.85 is the max I can seat too for COAL based on my magazines (MDT CIP Length 300 PRC), but I am going to start at 3.8 and work jump back from there. I'm guessing 3.8 might already be making contact, though.3.8 or 3.95? That only makes things worse.
Sorry if I misread that. I have gone digital.
Does that fit into a magazine? If anyone was curious, here's one stuffed into a 300 prc.
