Good to see you made it over here as well Billy. Lots of good info over here. I feel ashamed I do not post over here much. Our poor slow internet connection keeps me from accessing too much over here. Takes a while to load sometimes.

Thank you Len for giving the members what you think they will want. Don't take that as a bad comment, but the poll wasn't, should we have an Ar forum, but will you own one.

Okay, so when are we going to be activated here so we can get some threads started? Got some AR stuff to discuss!

Thank you for the addition Len. I do believe that if more people took the time to unsderstand the AR platform they would be very surprised! There are so many choices of calibers now that you could just have one lower and a couple of really nice uppers and be able to shoot /hunt anywhere you please. I personally have three uppers in 5.56,6mm AR Turbo Imp. & 6.8SPCII and three lowers but I'm planning on adding a couple more. They will never replace my bolt guns but they are fun to shoot and very accurate with the proper handloads. I'm actually going to use one either the 6mm or the 6.8 hunting in Texas this November for deer/pigs which will be a first for me but I know they are widely used down there for hogs etc.

:D

Wasn't able to start a new thread in this section, AR's is something I'm quite familiar with and have built them in 17 Rem, 204 Ruger, 223, 6.5 Grendel (and 264 LBC), and also a few 300 Whispers.

I have three niches I use these rifles for, a heavy barreled 223 or 204 Ruger (20-24" bbls) for varmints, a good lightweight 6.5 Grendel (18-20" bbls) for deer, and a lightweight 223 (18" bbl, .675" gas block) for calling coyotes. And then there's the AR10's...heavier, not as handy, but I've built them in 260, 7mm-08, and 308. Was looking at the mags the other day and I think I might be able to get one to work in 284, but that's a future project.

I have wanted to fool around with the 6mm AR's, but haven't gotten around to picking up a reamer or dies.

Len, since they're so similar, how about an AR15/10 forum???

I didn't realize I had not enabled "new threads" but I have now.

And I added /10 to the title

Thanks Len,

I have a DPMS Lo-Pro Classic that is a real tack driver. I have always been skepticle on AR's and never knew that they could shot as well as they do. I can shoot 5 shot groups at 100yds all day long and never have any of them not touching one another and this is with a 16" heavy bull barrel!

I hope that others jump in and start posting so we can broaden our knowledge base on these style guns
