I have been wanting a large caliber rifle? I don't need one in Kentucky but still.
I had 2 problems the first being reloading/fire forming ammo and the price/wait on a full custom.
This is not a bash on the prices custom makers charge PLEASE don't say I said that! I have 3!
But with my skill level/bankroll and lots of good factory ammo Target and Hunting I went with a Master Piece Arms 338BA
I have one of their chassis on another rifle and I like it. Anyone shoot one ? Your thoughts.
I got it for a lot less than MSRP!

Looks nice!! A little heavier then I would like but will help with recoil I guess. I just ordered a Christensen MPR in 338 LM from Eurooptics very close to the same setup, just lighter and a little cheaper.. Let us know how it shoots?

Looks Awsome, i went a different route for mine did a savage 110 long range hunter and put it in a xlr chassis and he it chambered in .338 lapua improved. Then got another 110 ba stealth and use that for firing my improved brass.

Check you tube!

I'm hoping the weight does help with recoil! I would like it about 20# ready to
shoot.
Yes it does. basic physics. The more weight slower the push or slower the hurt. I like heavy. I have a heavy 2506. You can watch the bullets hit the target and shot all day.

That's a good looking piece KyCarl let us know how it shoots. Recoil shouldn't be any problem with a rifle that heavy. My Christensen 338 tfm is around 9 pounds with scope and its recoil is very manageable.

Savage offers the .338 Lupua in a;sub 9# long range hunter, a FCP a little over 9# and the BA. I owned the BA and felt it was to heavy to shoot off hand but was fine for sitting. I sold it and bought the FCP and it's Borderline to heavy to shoot off hand but you can tote it around with a back pack style sling. The long range hunter is the lightest but I haven't own one. Both the BA and FCP shoot one hole 5 shot groups and had the exact OAL to be 3000th off the lands.

The long range hunter is light I have one. The BA was very heavy. The BA stealth fits right between I can shoot that one off hand but any heavier it would be a no go.

I won 7 boxes of (10) Lapua 300 Gr. ammo on GB last night at about 4 bucks each round
I thought it would be good brass to save while breaking in the barrel and scope work?
