Need Your 7 SAUM Load Data

7 saum load data for you. This was a new rifle build put into action this past month and a half. 6 animals
58.5 - 60.5 rl 26 with 175 eldx shot a consistent 3/4 group. 2825 fps on 22 inch benchmark barrel. 61 opened up. Ran 210 primers. 215 primers out the gate had worse groups. Deff suggest standard primer over mag primer.
4831sc shot ok. But not as good at rl26.

Going to try h1000 just for data - upcoming.
Maybe 4350.

Also just a note going to be trying going back to 160 NP for close up woods shooting under 150 yards. Really under 75 yards.

the eldx worked ok on some distance animals but I really didn't like up close shots. Animals were whitetails. Not gave up on them just want to have options. Further testing needed for final vote on eldx.

Don't shoot the messager on eldx. First time really using them. Just thought terminal performance wasn't like what I'm use to for woods up close hunting. Previous load for 20 years was 180 interlock 30-06 for 300 yards and in on deer.

Well we now have two 7 saums in the house hold.
Mine is a crazy accurate 24" bbl I'm running 61.5 gr of rl 26 for 2940 fps with 175 elite , newest one is a t3 with a 26" bbl and it likes N565 65 gr with 175 elite for 3030 fps.
Both ADG brass and fed 210 for a fuse.

2940 with a 175 seems awfully fast for 61.5 grains doesn't it?

My next long range build will be a 7mm short mag but I cant decide between 7WSM and 7SAUM. Is it True that you can equal the velocities but use less powder in the 7SAUM? If so then what advantage does the 7WSM offer?
You're not going to get equal speeds out of the two with equal pressures being used...

Well, that's what I get🤷‍♂️ , Brass on his sixth firing.

That's why I got rid of my 7 prc which shot the same powder, same bullet with five grains more for 30 ft./s gain.

totally understand your thought process-thx

have you got that speed on more than one day?
Yup it's consistent with at least 300 shots through it.
I shared this one the other day, but this is a group at 825 yards
It shoots the tiniest little 1/4" triangles at 100 yards which reflect at 825 yards.
It shoots even better and more consistent with N565 but I can't get enough in it to get speed. I can only get 2800 fps , at 2900 gps with it opens up.

not very many have listed their coal in their data. probably important with mag restrictions (true short action, medium/xm action or long action).

I don't have the info in front of me, but I will say this. Don't ask me how but my 7Saum is a fierce rival, short action, and all I did was load it to mag length didn't even measure the chamber as I did not have a modified case and that is how it shot.
I finally measured the chamber last week with a 175 elite hunter and it's jumping them 0.133" 🤣I'm not sure how it shoots as well, but I'll take it.

true short actions chambered in short mag types are a downfall when using above 165/8's, which is a good reason to use xm/medium action (some people use long actions for these). the 195's seat deep with my 2.865" mag restrictions. wish i could get ar mags out to 3".
