Working up a new load for my 270 WSM using 125 gr. Cutting Edge bullets. Tried IMR 4451 powder. It gave me good velocity numbers, but ES was all over the place. I'm wanting to try a slower burning powder as I think it will help bvurn rate in the large case capacity of this round. Can someone with Quickload provide me with a max weight data for either H1000 or Retumbo (preferably both)?

With the H1000, you will end up filling the case and going into compression at roughly 73 grains plus or minus your seating habits.

If you start your ladder at 69 grains, you will be under 62ksi about the point where you get to 73 grains. This experience came from the time period when CA forced their lead hunting bans and my friends needed to learn to run the 130 Barnes TSX. Your 125 CEB will be in that same ballpark within the variations in brass and barrels.

The GRT code has a 270 WSM but doesn't have CEB bullets. I'm away from home without QL due to those fires. If nobody else comes along before I can run QL I will eventually get home.

The Retumbo won't play well with that 125 grain bullet. Save that for the heavy ones like the 140 to 160 grain range. YMMV
