Hey guys I've been lurking for years and finally joined a while ago. Ive been trying to convince my wallet to build a new rifle for years. I finally have.
Ive decided on a Borden Timberline action, Mcmillan A3 stock, Jewell trigger, 28" barrel chambered in 338 edge. Ive spent years reading over your site and done a lot of reaserch. I'm unsure what contour to go with. I'm thinkin light/std palma or Sendero, both fluted. I'm trying to keep unscoped weight around 12lb. I'm aslo looking for pictures of either contour. Im thinking for the stock; majority dark or medium tan with black and light tan marble. Any pictures close to that would also help me decide. I'm also planning on Cerekote in a tan or light brown.
This is going to be my "longer range" rig. I also pack around a 300RUM, which will become my "light weight" rig
It will be a hunting gun mainly used on coues deer, shooting prone. Maybe an occasional antelope or black bear. I archery hunt for elk, but I'm sure this would fit the bill if I ever draw an early rifle bull tag. I mainly want it to be more predictable with the smallest margin of error possible.
Right now I'm planning on using the Bergers, but I guess I can see whats avalaible when the gun is build. I'd like to see a 300gr Accubond or A-max.
