Need help woth Extractor for Rem 700

I am curious. Why did your GS need to replace the extractor? They are very reliable unless you remove it. (They are hard to rebend.)
btw, the riveted models are a PITA.
When I ordered an extractor form PTG two years ago, they delivered much faster than forecast.

My rifle was my brother's whom passed away at 50. So it's a rem 700 bdl 30-06 and is about 30 years old. It's warn out
