Working on a load for my new rifle and I would like some advise on when is it good enough I call it quits. I know it's going to be personal preference, and I am sure there is no written in stone goal to shoot for. But I would like everyone's opinion.
To start with I am shooting a 300 mag and I have been able to shoot a .61 3 shot group very consistently with my current load. I measure this from the the edge of one hole to the furthest edge of the others, and I did not subtract the bullet dia. I had this rifle built for longs instance shooting/hunting.
So finally the question. Is my current load good enough for me to start working at shooting longer distance with it. Or should I still work on tweaking it a bit. Ya I know some of you guys can stack bullet after bullet into the same hole. But this is my first go round with working on shooting out past 600 yards, and I want to make sure I put enough "give a ****" with load development before I start with longer shots.
Thanks
