Need help with caliber choice

You can never go wrong with either of the time tested 7 mm rm or 300 win mag...if it causes you to think "too far", just wait or take a little 100 yard walk...lol
 
Yep, hard to beat the 7 Mag. for an all around cartridge. I used one for years when we hunted the power lines and shots were beyond 500 yards.
 
7MM RM is tough to beat for most users . Good velocity with good bullets and plenty of options to choose from.
 
Ok, thanks for all of the replies. It sounds like most say stick with the Rem 7 mag. Since it just doesn't seem to have the feel for me, is there something I can do to it without investing thousands of dollars?
 
Rebarreling isn't gonna cost thousands. Just use the action and stock you have or is it the stock that doesn't fit.
