I am complete agreement with 3fingervic on the 300WSM. You load that with a 125 or 135 Boat Tail of some type, and your going to smoke any little furry four footed burrowing creature in the northern hemisphere to beyond 1000yrds with velocities around 3600 to 3800fps.
Then when you want to take something bigger, load up some 208 A-Max or a 210grn of some type (Berger, JLK, SMK) and shoot Whitetail to 1200yrds or elk to 800yrds. It's a killer combo. That is why I own one.
