Need boots , what do you wear

My Mucks were damp from yesterday hunt, so I decided to try my old Lacrosses, I quit wearing them because they were hard to get on and off, I was trying to take them off and pulled something in my thigh, snap crackle pop. What do you all wear for cold weather, 15 to 30 degrees usually trims warmer during the day. Thanks for your suggestions.

If it is in muddy conditions and not walking too far as in whitetail hunting, then it is either of the two you just mentioned.

Yet. If you like your boots spend 40 bucks for a boot dryer and you will love it. Has your boots warm on a cold morning and dries the damp sweat out after hot days

A plastic grocery bag on each foot makes getting into and out of rubber boots a lot easier. Learned this trick on the farm when Tingley pullovers were the norm.

I bought a new pair of LaCrosse Alpha Burly Pros this year and like them so far. I got the uninsulated version. I add boot blankets and heat packs over them as needed when the temps drop. I have noticed that my feet do sweat in them though, I guess during my fairly short walks in/out to the stand. Hasn't been a problem so far but I haven't had out below 20 degrees yet either. I did order a boot dryer to dry them out overnight though.

I don't have any problems getting them on/off. I also love the ability to roll the tops down on them for ventilation.

The new lacrosse boots are much easier to take off and come in multiple insulation weights. The game changer for me was a good pair of sock liners and heavy weight alpaca socks. I only wear these on all day w/t stand. And yes I love my boot dryer especially with the glove attachment!

What kind of liner are you using?

I've thought about changing my socks once I'm at the tree, but it would be a pain. Maybe a liner to the tree, then add a heavy sock over top would work better.

I wear smart wool liners on the coldest days and the cheap cabelas ones when it's not as cold.

Brand doesn't matter if they fit well. They also must be waterproof, warm, and well broken in.

What gram insulation do you prefer? I'm like MM02. My Rockies gave it up this year and the Lacrosses are too tight. The temps are 20's to low 50's. Now I'm having to walk a lot further to hunt. I wear moisture wicking socks to my stand and then change to wool. Looking at 800-1200 gram thinsulate. Don't like muck boots either. Appreciate the info.
