Need .300 Win Mag powder info

I have a 24" barrel on my 300WM and shoot 210 Bergers. I was loading H1000 and found the best accuracy at 77gr. After 76gr my velocity would not increase but accuracy did some but it was pretty hard on brass. I switched to H4831SC and eventually ended up at 73gr. My velocity increased by about 20fps but my brass life increased and accuracy was slightly better than H1000. I think 7828 would also be a good option at that barrel length.

Hi guys. I'm looking into getting into reloading for my new Remington 700 5r in .300 Win Mag. It has the 24" 1x10" rifling. I've been doing a TON of online research and I know that H1000, H44350 and IMR4350 seem to be popular powders for this round. I may have found a source for the IMR4350 and I'm wondering if I should jump on it or if you guys can recommend another brand/type of powder. My main interest will be the 180-208gr bullet weights for both hunting and shooting. However, if I found a nice hunting round in the 168gr range, I'd use that too.

I've loaded 3 Remington 5rs. 76 gr of h1000 with either berger 215 or 210. Got .3 inches or less every time

Yup. Totally agree. It's the magic spot. They also do very well with a load properly developed with H4831SC.

180 grain bullets are the most accurate in my Browning X-Bolt, and the two powders that work best for me are H4831SC and Reloder 17. I have found Re 17 to be a useful powder that also works well in a couple of other rifles as well. For what ever reason, it provides higher velocity with no visible signs of pressure. It is however a bit more temperature sensitive than H4831.
