Names for common (?) critters

I see someone got speed goat in here.

Pole cat is a skunk. How about a "bear cat"?

Around here a whistle pig is a ground squirel and a flying rat is a magpie.

How about "slow elk"

or a "fur bearing rat"

Among the birds we have "marsh monkeys" and "mormon chickens" (no offence meant)

And from coast to coast in all locations we have "road pizza"

local names for groundhogs...

snow geese = silver-heads flying to Florida in Fall.
 
We've got "bush chooks" (emus) and my 4 year old daughter once referred to kangaroos as "big dogs".
Chooks are of course chickens everywhere but Australia .
Seagulls are sometimes referred to as albino crows .
 
Slow elk = any of the cattle family.
Fur bearing rat = Coyote.
Marsh monkeys = Coot.
Mormon chickens = Sea gull (when there is only one we call it a "single". Get it? Seagull ,sing gull.)
Road pizza = any road kill that is at the flat and wide stage.

Meister Reinike = fox
Charley = Fox
Keiler = mature boar
Keiler mit lipstick = very ugly and large woman.
stoggie = wood pigeon
thereare loads more but none come tomind at the mo..

Chris, are you sure you dont mean those WORTHLESS little disgusting things called goats.

I do agree that from a distance sheep look more like actuall maggots but there was never a range war with goats. Everyone knows they dont belong on a healthy prarie.
