Well I'm getting back at it here shortly .
If you followed before ...well Thank you !
You have seen the highs and lows of the ELR game .
I tryed some new /different equipment and managed to hit steel at 3027 yards .
Very exciting to say the least.
I have had my share of health problems as stated in other posts . So far I'm good to go !
I'm headed back out west to hunt with my oldest daughter this Fall ! I'm very Happy I was given this chance !
Big thanks from above and some $$ I got a Elk and Deer tag !! Montana here i come!

Well on my trip I'm bringing a Elr set up.
338 Edge , 30 " barrel and all the fixens for some long range shooting ! I will have about 325 min. of elevation to play with .

I'm looking for a place in Montana, North western (Kalispel ) . It would be exciting to hit my Goal of 2 miles ! If anybody has a place or any info that would be great ! I will travel to see my other daughter in Helena . So I'm checking with old friends down that way too !
I'm going to keep this going as long as my Heart let's me !
I was given a second chance and I'm going to do the Best with it !
Thanks for looking!!

Should be a blast! My longest shoots have been 2,000, but the more I think about it, I'm getting an itch to try the 3k mark.
I'm not sure if I want to try with one of my current builds or go with something specifically made for that feat, but given I am just a couple of hours north of the Whittington Center, it would be nice to play with the King of Two Mile boys........ before I'm too old.

Good to hear your on better ground health wise, you have a couple things that are exciting to look forward too . 2 miles ..... what a goal ! My sincere best wishes for you and your quest and I'm sure you will achieve it soon. Congrats on the 3027 yards so few will ever reach numbers like that !!

I'll be watching to see how you do on your 2 mile quest . I have the same goal , but it looks like the range is going to be short of 2 miles . good to hear your health is doing well .
Well i happen to know there are such places near where you live Jim.
But you would have to invite me along to watch for the splashes in the water below. lol

Rum man good to hear things are going well. Every day is a blessing for all of us. Truly hope your Montana trip turns into a awesome memory of a lifetime.

Thank you !
Things went south last fall but I'm doing better now . The new Meds seem to be working. Last trip to the Dr. was good .
Looking forward to my trip back to Montana this Fall . Not going to lie .. I miss it !

Glad to hear your doing good. Took a trip out west to Wyoming. Wound up shooting to 2200 yards. Winds and bad stuff out there. Had a ball. Shot the 300 WM with 225s and my 338 with 285/300s. Pretty amazing how much better the heavy 338 bullets out class the heavy 30 caliber bullets. I'm building a 300 PRC and plan on the 230s. Should be a good LR hunting round. Shot several other 6.5/7mm rifles. All do great out to 1500 in fair weather. The 284 with 162s seemed to out gun the 6.5-284 with heavies. Ultimately the 338 ran the show. With winds at 15-25 at times and some decent windage, the 1500-1800 yard targets were pretty regularly hit with fair groups when wind slowed some. Beyond 1800, it was completely different. 2200 may as well been 2 miles in that wind but still managed several hits on 30" steel. Can't lie, misses were common as well. We never had a day to even attempt 2 miles and to be honest, the 338 LM improved just isn't enough gun. Sure on calm days it's workable but a little wind and forget it. Consistent hits and even misses would be impossible to see. The next sensible step for 2 miles is the 375/416 CheyTac.

We need to get together and Shoot soon !
The wind has it's way with all caliber's!
It's all we can do to do the best on data and a few prayers to the Wind God's !! Ha ha
Glad you got out and seen the West !
