My two day guided hunt lasted 15 minutes

F&G making money off feral animals .... Next will be coyote tags. If people knew what the state pays trappers to kill mountain lions with tax payer money, they might vote to lift the ban on lions. But then you have Gov Gav stopping bobcat hunting. Oh wait politics . I'll stop. A lot of money being made of hogs on both sides.

AINT IT THE TRUTH. Liberals and politicians start a BAN on animals then see that hunters want to have the animal in their sport so then the Liberals and politicians think "GOOD IDEA" LET'S TAX THE CITIZENS.
In reality politicians - all politicians, once elected, think that US citizens don't own any property or monies. It is all the politicians to spend as they wish because citizens are not smart enough to use their wealth.
I could give a week long lector on Socialism, Communism, Totalitarianism. Our School systems were taken over by these orders from more than 100 years ago. We were all subjected to some form or another in our lives. BUT since the 1960s it has radically changed. There is a Major University located in NY. This University teaches "TEACHERS" and with the Liberal/Socialism ideas.
This is where Teachers and Professors then go into major universities and other universities and teach their philosophies.
I know this for fact. My sister holds several PHD's and had her reality of the human race changed so much that I don't know her anymore.
Getting back to "FEES" on hunting. It is just another TAX.

Hogs recently showed up on my place, after seeing what they can do to a pasture I wish they would go away. But, if they are here to stay might as well make use of them. Ones I see don't look anything like your California hog, one generation from being in some body's lot. Does California have rules for shooting hogs? Any time with any weapon in this part of GA.

Heck no ! KSB209 got me started ! I used to live N California. I escaped.
I shot a hog with bow on Catalina Island years ago. They'd take hunters for a 2 day hunt by boat out of Long Beach. Fun.

Like I said before California was once a sportsman's/ firearms industry paradise. Great hunting and fishing. Sierra started there as did Berger. A ton of great gunsmiths and gunshops were there. It's a crying shame.

Weatherby got out and came here. Good move. Have Gunwerks and Best of the West right here in town also. Wyoming Armory , a great gunsmith/builder . Couple of good gunsmiths . Few other gun shops.

California doesn't have a season for pigs but you do have to buy tags. When I escaped there a few years ago the tags were still cheap and available.
