Samuel, all of those are good choices for first bolt action. I really like my Weatherby Vanguard II. I like the Savages that my sons have. I recommend your friend try shouldering each one at a retail store. That way he can see what fits him best. I have taken a few rifles on trade and they just feel cheap or wrong for me. Those are the only guns that I have ever parted with.
Good morning Red! I see here it says you TOOK ( not that were forced on you) a few rifles on trade that FELT cheap or wrong....maybe if you consider trades in the Future...OPEN yours eyes Brother and look at em' too! 😉 And x 2 ^^^

I really like my Savage rifles, they are easy to work on with very simple triggers. They also have pretty good aftermarket support. Personally, I like 24" barrels, a 22" would be fine if it's not pencil light.

If he is serious about a suppressor or already has one then the only rifle on that list that I would consider would be the Ruger American Predator Go Wild Compact in 6.5 Creedmoor. It has a 16" barrel and while not ideal it will be enough. The others are way too long for where and how I hunt. I actually would prefer the regular Predator in 308 with the 18" barrel or any 18-20" 308 with a threaded barrel but that's not on the list. For reference I hunt with a 16" 308 model seven and I would shoot at anything out to 400 without question. I'm not sure if Bergara still makes the Ridge SP but that would be about perfect if they do.

First he needs to buy a book or two. I highly recommend Craig Boddington's "The Accurate Rifle and Rifleman" or "American Hunting Rifles" among many others. Wayne Van Zwoll, Layne Simpson and a host of others will well serve to inform and illuminate his possible choices.

The above authors are all highly experienced, widely accredited authorities on rifles, cartridges and hunting.

Basing a purchase of this nature on opinions of unknown value may in long run be very disappointing.

Tikka makes a good solid rifle, great shooters with good out of the box factory triggers. I'm a traditionalist and like wood, Tikka has both wood and manmade stocks, all look and fit great for me. Mine are .270win and .308win and they do all I ask of them and do it well. Don't know about the barrel threading. Like I said I'm a traditionalist and I won't hang anything on the end of my barrel.

My vote goes to Bergara. Bergara uses Remington a 700 clone action, which gives you more options for triggers, bases, etc.
I bought a Bergara Wilderness 300 PRC. I glass bedded it,and installed a trigger tech trigger.
Out of 3 custom rifles I own. This bergara out shoots them with the factory 212gr. Eldx ammo. IMG_20220430_200947720.jpgIMG_20220430_201616782.jpg

Hello all I have a friend/coworker that is looking for a good reliable rifle to hunt with this year and to use for many season to come this will be his first bolt action rifle as he has always been a ar15 and ar10 guy and has built some nice rifles but he's wanting something better for deer hunting. And he is looking at weatherby vanguard hi- country,
Browning x bolt long range stalker and savage 110 high country and bergara ridge and ruger american go wild these are the rifles he can get in store at his local gun store.i personally do not know anything about four of these and have never looked at them In person I have owned three ruger american rifles in the pasted and they worked okay for me.i would like to try and help him figure out which one is a better factory rifle.he will be hunting from stands and on the ground shots won't be more than 200 yards.he just wants a good reliable accurate rifle it be nice to hear from people on here that has experience with two or more of theses brands.he really likes that the browning and weatherby has the m16 style extractor and they have longer barrels in the caliber hes looking at.but he also likes that the savage and bergara and ruger american are threaded 5/8x24 and dont have to use an adaptor for surpressure.ive tryed to help him from what ive heard from people on here but i figured id post and see what insight i can get for him.thanks in advance

My experience; Bergara very accurate, Vanguard/Howa nice solid rifles but accuracy mmeh 1.5 inch groups, Ruger American surprisingly good shooters.
Tell him to shop around and find a Tikka or a Seekins.

I sold all of them for more than I had in them. And the new owners loved them. That's why I won't but a gun for someone else. It has to fit.

I know this brand is not mentioned in your survey, But, You can't beat a Tikka Straight out of the box, Many of them come threaded with a thread protector, And many companies make pre-fits for them, Although I think people put a pre-fit on thinking they are better than the factory barrels and that's not usually the case, I have had Sako's and Tikkas That routinely shot 1/4 moa and under from the factory. The only thing I change on them is the stocks, But it's not necessary for just a hunting rifle.

Remington 700, wood or synthetic stock. The rifle will serve you a lifetime.
