My 270/308 27-08.

I've found 277fury hybrid and brass cases for sale. All barrels for sale listed ad 60 or 65k and not rated for 80k. I would love to build a 6.8-08/27-08/6.8rem ai. This way I can shoot 150's in 26, 27, 28 and 30cal.
The 277 fury holds more powder than a 270-08ai. The shoulder is way further forward.
In brass 50fps short of 270win.

Howdy All, I believe I mentioned that I was going to build a 270-308.
Well after 10 months of all the fun we go through building a Wildcat, I picked it up today. 😃
I used a Savage 110 lite weight Action.
I ordered a Shaw 24" 8.5twt barrel.
Birddog69 was there and helped me, great guy. 👍
My gunsmith said he could rework the accutrigger, he did a great job 1lb.
Trued the action and bolt, however you do that to a Savage. For now I am going to use the factory stock and after l season the barrel, I will know what I need to upgrade. It only weights 6.4lbs. Without a scope, I'm hoping to start seasoning the barrel (and gun) this weekend. I'm going to start with 130 Sierra, need to fire form brass. I will try and keep you all up to date.
Thanks.
I'm intrigued, I will definitely be following this thread, I usually like the wildcats , ok I like all bang bangs

I just know the shoulder is further and steeper than the 270-08 on the fury. I haven't seen any specs or even know if a 270-08 ai exists, but the fury design is a typical ai (without 40° shoulder). Either way, it would be a fun build!

I cannot imagine being without a couple of 270 Win rifles and a 270 Weatherby Mag. Even my 270 Win big fat heavy target rifle. Interesting idea a 270/308. KEC , Will that be for L/R varmints?? Will you set it up to shoot 110 grn. varmint bullets?? Ill bet that will be excellent at 300 /350 yards on Coyotes!! Who make dies for that?? Please keep us updated!!

Still testing powders, primers and different weight bullets.
I'm very impressed with the smaller bullets, Nosler 110 Accubond, Barnes 95 TTSX, Apex 103 Afterburner, Hammer Hunter 100gr. Got all but the 110 over 3400fps. 130gr. Class Barnes 129LRX, Nosler 130 BT & Accubond, Apex 133 Afterburner, all of them over 3000fps and a couple close to 3100. Thanks for inquiring I will get back with more details. 👍
Does or did Nosler make a 110g AB?I don't see anything listed for 110g from Nosler.

For the life of me, I've never figured out why the nobody didn't, meaning the gun or ammo companies , create a round on this platform. They seemingly just skipped right over it. They also skipped over .257.
I think you're going to have a blast, pun intended with it, and great accuracy to boot.
Kudos!
270 Redding has been around a long time, it just didn't catch on.

I am curious, why? Why not simply use a 6.8 Western?
