Moving to the next level in my reloading

jb1000br,
Using the two Stoney Point ogive checker's works great for segregating bullet's to shoot out to 1000yds+, but for extreme range shooting or hunting they dont work so well past 1500yds.
I will try and put a post on next week of a bullet bearing surface comparator that I have been using for ultra long shot's.

I was sorting my SMK142 into about three piles by BS. Then I got some Lapua 139 scenar. They all fit my one pile criteria for the 142SMK. Now I just trim the meplats and thats it.
I recommend trying the 139 scenars.

Joe -- yes. 2 same size SP iserts

Brian -- so you are obviously using a 0.0001 mic? are you weighing primers too?

a tenth (0.0001) diff in bearing surface would probably get lost is the noise of differential friction in your rest/bag setup, or primer goop, or flashhole diameter/consistency, or mirage/thermals or light conditions, or wind, or ...

YMMV,
JB
