Get a reasonably sized carbon fiber tripod that you can pack, with a ball head and QD mount set up for the rifle. This is far more solid than any abnormally tall bipod or shooting stick contraption!
I run a Atlas 98%.But if packing my spotter, or hunting double I carry a Aoka carbon tripod, about 1# with my outdoorsman QD,on it,12-32 approx.I have a small pic rail adapter, set up as rails on my hunt rifles My outdoorsman set up same way
MDT CKYEPOD may do everything you need on a bipod. Pricey. I'd go carbon tripod. Check out Field Optics Research. They're making some solid stuff. Lots of options. Some are 100% US sourced and built.
check out mtn gear. it is a NZ company that sells here in the US. I got one of their mountain bipods and have been very pleased. expensive, but not as bad as a MDT ckye pod. I added a picatinny to arca adapter and the total weight is still under 8 oz.
