Most consistent powder in 300 win

H1000 would be a good starting point for 200+ gr. bullets. Good luck

Yeah I keep seeing h1000 mentioned everywhere. Might have to "give it a shot". I've played with some others and have read tons of reviews and load data, and am not at all new to this, but always want to hear firsthand how others are doing. I also like to try new (to me) recipes, that's the fun in handloading for me. Experimentation. It's got nothing to do with dissatisfaction with existing discoveries, it ain't broke and I'm not trying to fix anything. Currently I've played with 7828, 7828 ssc, 7977, rl 22, rl 25, h4831, superformance, h50bmg, imr 4350....but not h1000. You using it? What sets it apart in your eyes?

i have shot a variety of bullets, but no pills so i cannot help

I suppose a lack of experience with pills dictates refraining from advising others on their proper usage. Good call. Sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen. I suppose there's a reason people have to go to school for a decade to be granted that authority. On a side note perhaps my use of pills and not bullets explains the major problem I've been having with none of my projectiles reaching the target, just blowing up straight out of the barrel. Here I thought it was a twist rate issue...

I also picked H-1000 for 210s and 215s. It's not too temp sensitive, being one of the Extreme powders from Hodgdon, usually gives very good velocity and is available.

I've had nothing but disappointment with my pills! The tylenol exhibits horribly weak terminal performance (despite what the packaging said about causing liver failure and death), the extra strength ones don't seem to hit any harder, big waste of money. Even with my drug coverage my concerta is just too flipping expensive so I've loaded up a few rounds but am scared to shoot them, the dang things are more pricey than trophy bonded tips and not as nice to look at. I am hopeful though, the jackets on those bad boys is tough, might make the trip, but only to jack up the game animal's dopamine and enable it to study late at night. The stuff helps me sit still though, so perhaps if it affects deer likewise there will be greater follow up shot possibilities. My blood pressure meds ironically caused all kinds of unpredictable pressure issues, primers falling out left and right. The multivitamins are without a doubt the most concentric pills I've tried, very consistent weights too. However, they just seem to help the animal, none of the creatures hunted with these need worry about scurvy or rickets any time soon (though the magnesium stearate used to bind it all together - a bonded projectile - could get the job done as it is insoluble and when introduced directly to the vascular system could very well cause a stroke).

- sorry man, couldn't resist, all in good fun on my end. If you have found some bullet/powder combos that worked for you, I'd love to hear about it.

Getting the impression already that I need to try this stuff for myself. My local gun store has it in stock.

45, I use H1000 in four Weatherby calibers. With the summer temps here in Az at 100+ and some hunts in the high country below freezing this Extreme powder has great consistency. The newer IMR Enduron 7977 is a very close match as well as being temp insensitive. H1000 works for me, but every action/barrel is different and sometimes another powder may be the trick.

I have a pound of 7977 unopened...will have to experiment with that before buying the h1000.
