Most Accurate Out Of The Box

The model I am looking at now is this one, made by Fierce Arms, very SEXXY in 300 RUM.

The Edge

What do you boyz think? gun):)
I've got 3 different Rum's, 2 Remingtons and 1 Winchester Custom. I like all three but honestly unless you're shooting past 1,000yds on big game your target will never know the difference in it and the .300wm.

300wm is more than plenty, not to mention a whole lot cheaper and more fun to shoot.

I agree. I would say that more than 85% of your average hunters out there will never take a shot over 750 yards on a big game animal. If that is the case, then a .30-06 (or .30-06 AI) armed with 185+ grain bullets would be more than enough rifle. At 750 yards, my .30-06 AI with 185 Bergers still holds 1,772 fps, and 1,290 lb.ft. of energy.

Well I guess that makes me different than average.

Where I hunt the elk are beyond 750 yards and I do not believe that my 30-06 would cut it or be humane, just saying.

PS: I do agree with you that most hunters can't shoot. I do not suffer from their mental (buck fever) problems.

I agree. Over the years, I have met many of those "crack-shots", too...

I did not mean that personally towards anyone (just to clarify). I was just saying that I would bet that majority of hunters collectively (nation-wide), will never shoot at game past 750, whether it be from lack of skills, or their particular region of the country is too densely wooded for it (like majority of Alabama is).

For that matter, I'm guessing the majority of hunters don't take shots over 250yrds. Out west here, particularly those who hunt the small Coues deer most guys are finding that you better be ready to shoot and hit them at 500 yards.

650 is my longest and I'm thinking on a day without much wind I'm good for another 100 yards. I'm guessing there is a very SMALL number of hunters who can hit game routinely past 750 yards.

Guys hitting game beyond that on a regular basis, spend a small fortune on their equipment, are up to speed on the latest tech and loads and most importantly, spent a lot of time to make it happen. My hat is off to them!

Where I live and hunt moose, my average shot is under two hundred yards, as it is mostly wooded, my longest shot on moose was 450 yards with a 30-06 and a Bausch & Lomb 4200 Rainguard Elite 2.5-10x40mm scope. That was the day I decided to buy my Huskemaw 5-20x50mm Blue Diamond, I wanted to take the guessing game out of the equation! Best decision I ever made on a scope.

When I am bow hunting my average shot of moose is under 40 yards, because I hunt them during the rut and they just can't seem to ignore my sweet sounding cow in hyper-heat call vocalizations hehe.

Were I hunt Mule Deer it is more prairie then wooded and the crankers always seem to be out there beyond 500 yards and where I hunt Elk, it is mostly wooded with the elk feeding along the treelines in farmers fields. These elk are pretty educated and 750 yards shots are the norm.

These are the reasons why I have decided to upgrade my rifle. My 30-06 just wont cut it for elk at these ranges. My buddy shot a cow elk last year with his .338 Ultra Mag @1,150 yards. Right now my Huskemaw is sitting in my gun safe, poor thing is pouting because I have not made up my mind yet, but I am getting closer.

I have got to say that the two rifles that are impressing me right now are the Montana Extreme x2 and The Edge Rifle made by Fierce: The Edge

I think either one would be a very good choice, with the Extreme x2 being half the price, I like that idea! :)

In terms of most hunters shooting abilities, most think that there are great shots, in reality only a small percentage are.

If you want to do what you are talking about with an out of the box rifle look at the Sako Long Range Hunter in 338Lapua, they make it in 300 winmag also.

I have a Sako LRH in 338 Lapua with a NF Actar 5-25X56 and shoot factory Hornady 250gr Custom ammo and it is sub MOA. My Sako TRG42 in 338 Lapua with the same scope on it shooting 300gr handloads has taken a deer at 1185yds. I could be wrong but I think the Sako's will hang with any Custom build.

That's what I call good shooting! Should have mentioned I am going to look at a Rem Model 700 Sendero SF II today, good price without the wait time!
