most accurate .300 Win Mag?

View attachment 294260
Heres 3 diff powder charge weights, 3 shot groups from Bergara 300 win mag 220 eldx. H1000. Not factory loads but the eldx 220 shoots good in my factory Bergara.
Also from a Bergara HMR-PRO 300 WM
H-1000 with 180 gr SST
small bore 50 yd, reduced for 50'. Shot at 100yds. Not bad for just breaking in! Some of the first 100 Rds down range

RWS 300 Win Mag Uni Classic 180gr, cloverleaf groups at 100yds and awesome Elk stopR!! Made in Germany but NECG sells em here, best factory stuff have ever used.

Thanks guys for taking the time to shoot me some ideas.

All are so hard to find these days

All I can find are the 200 ELDX.

Hunt isnt till December but I have to sandwich in between 2 knee replacements Sept 20 and January☹️
If it's all you can find it's the best one for sure!!!!

I wouldn't worry too much about this. God knows a pile and I mean a very very large pile of elk have been humanely taken with the classic .30-06/180 grain soft point combo. .300
Win mag with 200 grain eldx should be just more of a good thing, a little more insurance on both counts. Of course, I won't discount @MagnumManiac experience with the 208 amax but will note that the amax corresponds to the eld m, not the eld x you're looking at. The eld x is much thicker jacketed than the eld m.

decided not to reload for my SAKO 85 1X11 TWIST rifle. i don't want to spend $1000 on testing different factory loads. i believe any of the premium loads will kill but I love great accuracy.

i'm leaning towards the Hornady 200GR ELDX what are yall elk killers finding in your .300 WINCHESTER MAGNUM FACTORY RIFLES?

.300 win mag only please. try to keep this thread "on the rails"

thanks
Unfortunately all rifles are different as to what they digest. You may have one that likes one load and another rifle will spray them. Trail and error.

Buzzsaw ,

I recommend the Nosler 200gr. Partition bullets .
No problems on penetration or expansion .
Currently available online at Precision Reloading - precisionreloading.com
They show to be IN STOCK at $58.63 per box of 50 , which is more than double the price of the ELD-X , but it should have no problems with stability in your 1 : 11" twist barrel , and penetration through heavy hide , muscle , and bone is no problem .
They would be my choice out to 500 yards . I have always had good accuracy from Partitions .

Buzzsaw ,

Sorry that I did not understand that you did not want to reload .
Federal Premium Ammo used to be offered in .300 WM with the 200gr Partitions , and also the 180gr Partitions , which would be a good choice also .

Mapleridgearmoury.com currently has the Federal Premium Ammunition , .300 WM with 180gr Nosler Partition bullets available at $65.95 per box of 20 , total of 7 boxes in stock now .

Federal trophy bonded tip ammo should be perfect for this too
