Hmmm…I never seem to take pictures of them. Colorado is covered in them now. I've seen them on a dairy 10 miles out in the plains from the mountains. We had cows and calves in the middle of 30 Mile Campground surrounded by RVs and lookers. Often I see them browsing just off the road in the mountains. We will see how long that lasts with all the wolves they are bringing in.
In my early 70s I finally drew a muzzleloading tag for a cow. I took nearly 200 yards of cable, tow straps, climbing rope, and winch line so if I got one close enough I could drag it to the road. Saw all kinds of bulls right next to the road, but not one cow…of course. My young buds told me if I got one to call and they would take off from work. Only problem is I would have to drive nearly an hour to get cell service. Needless to say I didn't get my moose. That's the way hunting goes!

I have yet to lay eyes on one in AZ. I keep looking, but they are pretty sneaky here.

I have seen a few in AK when I have gone up for salmon trips.

Found some pictures I took from different parts of Colorado.
The first was on the Gore Range. The cow and calf were southern CO near Creede. And the third was a cow and 2 calves nearest to RMNP.

Pretty wide spread across the state. I tried loading others from other areas such as North Park and Grand Mesa, but the files were too big I guess.
My hunt was up on Deadman in northern CO. There is a Moose observation area and building with displays on the west side of Cameron Pass where you can almost always see them.
Years ago they were reintroduced in CO and have done quite well from 5,000 feet to 10,000 feet.
