Midsouth Powder Shipments

Or you can have FedEx driver throw your box of primers onto your concrete porch from 5' away! Box looked like it was used as block for a jack. I actually saw her do it, opened door and asked driver if she knew what was in the box. Nope. Asked her if she read the HazMat sticker? Nope. I asked her if she had HazMat training, yep. 🤬

I ALWAYS try to get UPS instead of FedEx or USPS (non haz stuff) since I feel neither one is competent to deliver anything.

BTW FedEx has damaged our property several times and I filed a claim with tons of photographs of the damage. They actually paid up since I had solid quote to repair. FedEx drivers that have delivered to our house are careless with towards our property and just don't seem to give a rat's ... File claims! Only way to stop this BS.

I wish they would use UPS or USPS. I live on a dead end country road so I'm not worried about porch pirates but FEDEX is the worst.I bought 5# of Retumbo from Midsouth back in August. My order was processed and shipped the very next day. A day or two later I get a message the package was delivered and signed for. Wasn't by me and no note on the door. The next day I happened to see it sitting outside the unoccupied cabin at the front of my property. The driver won't drive up to the house, even though you can see the 2-story house from there and the lane is wide and the trees are cut high enough for the UPS truck.

It's fed ex bs. If I need something and cant wait 2-3 times as long as ups I refuse to buy it. I ask and if they say fed ex I tell them nope ups or buying elsewhere.
Shippers are just as frustrated with them. Takes a long time to get their program swapped over to new company. Let them know your done with them if the use fed ex. Yep you have to call I'm the order or you get what you get.

Yeah, It's a pain in the *ss.
My recent order came with FedEx shipment in one week .
They sent a notice of delivery day so thankfully my wife was around that day.

I have had better luck with FedEx both at home and at my Gun Shop. The company really has nothing to do with it though. It's all in the driver/delivery person. I always tried to start up a friendly conversation with the person and they would respond and help out. YMMV.

Not long ago, FedEx left a fairly expensive rifle on my front steps (back from the smith). I couldn't believe what I was seeing when I drove up. 😡
They do the same in Canada....and often when I'm home don't even ask for a signature...handed me my Weatherby Mark V ....I asked if they wanted a signature....nope and drove away. I called Weatherby....told them If I wasn't a nice Guy ( spelled...FOOL) they would be sending me another rifle!

Just had a mid south delivery last week. 10 full days to process the order, then delivery with fed ex. They left 2 slips on the door for missed delivery since it was sign for delivery. I called the number on the slip and arranged a delivery for a Sunday. Few days later then I could of had it, but with people stealing packages from porches I don't mind a few days.

I have set up with a different shipping address for a very long time. I have an apartment in Montana, and a son that lives in that state. 1. No Sale Tax. So I have it shipped to either his office or his home. I do hate that having someone sign. It's a pain for them too. Brownell has a one time feed for about $50.00 per year for shipping. It doesn't include Hazmat fees. It does save on shipping if you are ordering several times a year. In Mexico-North the sale tax is about 9%. Mex-N your can't receive ammo without it going to a FFL shop first. I use to have it sent here in Mex-N, but they stopped that from happening, and if your billing address is here also, and the shipping is in another state that allow to received direct shipping. They wouldn't ship it either. So I switch my address to Montana. The bank is in Mex-N, but doesn't matter if your address is in another state. I also ran into this with Montana Fish & Game, because of my billing address was in a different state. So I use my Montana credit card with the Montana address. That ended that.

A while back FedEx changed something in their system with direct signature at location only. HUGE mess for me as they won't allow it held anywhere and direct signature only. I finally got an email for a gal at the local hub. Now when one of those is inbound. I email and she holds it for me to pick up. She was surprised when I told her about the restrictions and has been great to work with. They local drivers have their hand tied. If the shipper checks that box when creating the shipment you are stuck with the mess. It's not just a Hazmat thing, guns, my last phone, etc. Anything with the direct signature at location only option.

MidSouth is slow as f shipping but I haven't run into this specific issue with them. Brownells though, 100%. Almost same situation with powder with Brownells and Fedex. Fedex refused to do anything and said it was because of the shipper's instructions. I called Brownells and they said they didn't know why Fedex was doing that and they would call Fedex but did absolutely nothing. I ended up working from home the 3rd day also.

Now I did get some powder last week that was marked as requiring signature and the Fedex guy just left it on the steps no signature before I could get to the door. So, guess it depends on the actual delivery guy also.
I agree that a lot depends on the actual delivery person. We live rural & have one UPS driver that knows us well & has long tenure with UPS. He will leave everything at our front door/porch. We have a hi quality video monitoring system covering our premises. That might give him a comfort feeling?

Has anyone else had struggles getting their Midsouth powder shipments delivered by Fed Ex? I haven't ordered from Midsouth in awhile. I have some H1000 coming from them and the Fed Ex has attempted delivery twice so far. I was expecting them to leave the typical door tag that you can sign and allow them to leave the package. When I called Fed Ex they said the shipper (Midsouth) has requested a direct signature. This means I cannot reroute the delivery in any way or remotely sign for it. They will not hold it at a Fed Ex location because it's hazmat. Tomorrow is the final attempt before it's returned to sender. Now I guess it's miss work or let the powder get sent back to Midsouth. Very frustrating. No issues with delivery from Powder Valley or brownells.
it's the WOKE'S. They get jobs in the delivery systems of America and when they see something having to do with firearms they'll fail to deliver it for some silly excuse and return it to sender.
I've had the same thing happen to me a few times.

FedEx here is horrible and I've had a number of claims with them too. UPS is great. I have a customer that is 12 miles away, who lives in another state and only comes out on the weekends. The UPS driver delivers to his place too. I saw the driver there one day and the driver asked my customer (they were out during the week once) if they minded if he dropped the package off at my place. Since I have a key and the alarm code to their place I can put the packages inside when I'm there. The customer said no problem, so that made things easier for both of us.

Could you call Fed Ex and have them hold the package at the hub, you go there to sign for it? Same thing here, some signature required and with the inconsistency of FedEx actually showing up on a certain day I can't sit at home and wait for them to NOT show up.

USPS isn't so great either, I've had checks just not show up that I know were mailed.
