Has anyone else had struggles getting their Midsouth powder shipments delivered by Fed Ex? I haven't ordered from Midsouth in awhile. I have some H1000 coming from them and the Fed Ex has attempted delivery twice so far. I was expecting them to leave the typical door tag that you can sign and allow them to leave the package. When I called Fed Ex they said the shipper (Midsouth) has requested a direct signature. This means I cannot reroute the delivery in any way or remotely sign for it. They will not hold it at a Fed Ex location because it's hazmat. Tomorrow is the final attempt before it's returned to sender. Now I guess it's miss work or let the powder get sent back to Midsouth. Very frustrating. No issues with delivery from Powder Valley or brownells.

a lot of rules have changed. Fed Ex requires face to face on has mat some drivers even ask for your ID as proof. UPS will let you sign electronically when they send delivery email.

they treat ammo differently for some reason. i have missed work on occasion and not happy. years ago the neighbor use to get my packages but not any more, to many crooks out there

I deal with FedX and UPS all the time. If there is a "Signature Required" you can go on the website and sign for it and have them leave at your door step. Maybe because we have an account.
Also if FedX or UPS leaves a note on you door for a "Signature" you can sign and leave for the next delivery person to pick up.
The best way to deal with deliveries from a Retailer that requires a "Signature" is to communicate with them at the time of the purchase. You can make delivery instructions.
Never had a problem with Powder/Primers.
Now having firearms delivered may be different. We are lucky I guess that we live in the country and way off the road. The UPS and FedX drivers know our house and we never had a problem maybe because of delivery instructions with the retailer.
You should contact MidSouth at the time of the purchase. We have bought Powder & Primers -recently last year-and had left on our front deck.
Sorry to hear problems from MidSouth. We did a lot of business with Midway and MidSouth, but when Midway started raising prices-we stopped and used MidSouth along with other retailers.

Just checked and I can't tell how mid south shipped but my N570 was left at the front door.

MidSouth is slow as f shipping but I haven't run into this specific issue with them. Brownells though, 100%. Almost same situation with powder with Brownells and Fedex. Fedex refused to do anything and said it was because of the shipper's instructions. I called Brownells and they said they didn't know why Fedex was doing that and they would call Fedex but did absolutely nothing. I ended up working from home the 3rd day also.

Now I did get some powder last week that was marked as requiring signature and the Fedex guy just left it on the steps no signature before I could get to the door. So, guess it depends on the actual delivery guy also.

I'm getting the same run around from Fed Ex. Wasn't able to call Midsouth as they were closed by the time I got home. Bummer is it's really not a good day for me to work from home. I have a 25 man crew training tomorrow that I supervise. I may have to disappear for a few hours once they're rolling and wait out the driver. My wife has a 2 hour lunch tomorrow so she will take second shift. Fingers crossed. I've never had anything actually go back to the original shipper. Has anyone had luck convincing them to deliver a fourth day?

I buy some of my powder from MidSouth and they have a selection of shipping options, like eiher FedEx or UPS. The deal with FedEx is that an adult human needs to receive the powder shipment, if not, 2 other delivery attempts will be made then the shipment goes back to MidSouth and the customer eats the shipping & hazmat cost. FedEx allows shipments to be delivered to alternate sites for customer p/u. In my location the alternate sites are 2 Walgrens drug stores (no explosives next to Viagra) & a Fedex store/outlet. All these alternate sites won't accept hazardous materials, so the customer is SOL, should he/she not have an adult human to receive the hazardous materials. Walgren's, a drug store, is an unlikey place to have boxes marked, "Explosive".

The easy solution is to select UPS when buying powder from MidSouth and pay about $2.00 more.

Our UPS driver lady is a vey nice & friendly person who does not have a problem with packages labeled "Explosive" and cheerfully drops them off on the left side of the front door behind our huge potted plant that the deers chew on.

It all depends on your area and driver--- I get "adult signature required" shipments just lift on my front door step from both fed ex and ups wirh out signatures where I live--- but we don't really have any theft problems in our rural area.

Agree - On several occasions I've came home from work and found a (boxed) custom rifle leaning against the side of the house.

I've seen my powder deliveries just get tossed up onto the stoop. So much for HAZMAT care and signatures.

And I'm in a wine club. Heavy cases (18 bottles) of wine get delivered here regularly. The driver carries them to the door and when no one is home he lugs them back to the truck and attempts delivery on the next day. Sometimes he does this three days in a row. After a few months the driver askes if I have any problem with him just dropping the boxes on the side of the house and signing for the delivery himself. Perfect !

My experience with fedex has been that the driver does whatever suits him. PV has sent sig required and they left it on the porch. Others have made me sign. A few have forged my signature and left the package. I know this because they left it at the neighbors and when I called fedex they said it was signed for and the neighbor didn't sign anything. Fortunately, the neighbor let me know he had it. UPS is the only shipper Ive never had an issue with and never does he drive by while throwing a package out the door into the driveway. Fedex is horrible around here

The only retailer I've had ship "sig required" is Mid South. Not sure why, but definitely inconvenient.
