The Kia Telluride is the only vehicle we found with 3rd row seating that would fit an adult of any size - my daughter-in-law loves hers. The all-wheel-drive models are the way to go.

Airbag issue
5 coworkers and I took a Uber ride that was a newer Pilot. That back seat was actually pretty decent, depending how big you are.
One of the coworker drives an older Pilot for work and he was certain this one was bigger than his older one.
When we were on the same boat and looking for exactly what you are, ALL of the domestic vehicles were crossed off the list immediately and the Traverse was the first to go. We almost bought a Ford Explorer ST because it had all of the features, size and performance we (I) wanted but after looking at Toyota Highlander, Kia Telluride, Subaru Ascent and Lexus RX350L, we bought the Lexus. It was hands down the best built, best riding and most comfortable of all.
In reality the performance of the Explorer ST almost blinded me to the **** poor build quality of the domestics as compared to the others. The quality wasn't there but the asking price sure was. We ended up buying the Lexus for less than what we would have paid for the explorer.

Glad they fixed that. Ours was a 2004 I think, he had ordered it sight unseen when Honda first announced them so my info is a little out of date. I am 6'1" and always had to sit in the back being the youngest lol.

Like some others mentioned about the "Third Row". Unless you get a very large SUV the "Third Row" is a small space. Either get the big SUV or the Compact SUV with Two Rows. Like I mentioned about the Kia Sportage we have. It is a Two Row with space. The Sportage is the Same Frame as the Kia Telluride with Three Rows so what does that tell you. Sportage has more room in #1 & #2 Rows and a big Hatch Space.
We had a Pathfinder. Lots of room for the row 1 & 2 , but real tight on #3. Same with the Subaru Tribeca.
